I noticed this pattern with coaching clients (and in myself).

Most of us are trying to choose between different areas of interest. For me this would be between leadership, entrepreneurship, and spirituality.

But one of my coaches helped me see that the magic lies in the overlap. By that I…

Western culture is heavily focused on doing.

“Follow these seven steps and you will become a millionaire.”

Processes like that can work. You can follow a set of steps to build a company and become a millionaire.

But here’s what most of us miss. We miss the being element.

By that I mean, how are you being on a moment-to-moment, day-to-day basis? What are the emotional states you live in?

How much of your day do you spend in . . .

  • guilt, fear, doubt, worry, anxiety, desire, apathy, scarcity, anger, judgment, blame, or pride?

  • courage, optimism, hope, empathy, wisdom, joy, compassion, abundance, love, peace, and creativity?

When you shift things on the being level, the doing gets a lot easier.

I’ve wanted to write a blog post for several years now.

But every time I started, I got stuck. I wanted it to be perfect.

I was afraid it wouldn’t be amazing and would reflect poorly on me.

So I’m publishing this one to get it out of the way.

Here’s to embracing the perfection of imperfection.
